Fee band from £ 2000 - 4000
Dave Wolfe made his television debut in 1979 on LWT's Search for a Star and went on to win the final, beginning 1980 with his own television special.
Since then he has worked extensively in television, radio, theatre, cabaret and conferences, and is now acknowledged as one of this country's finest after dinner speakers.
For the past sixteen years Dave has concentrated solely on the corporate market, where his unique ability to tailor and personalise his material keeps him in constant demand.
Character assassination is a speciality of Dave's; however he is well aware that it is his job to entertain and not to offend, and to that end he is always politically sensitive. (In fact he says that the only people who ever complain are the ones that thought they should have got a mention and didn't!). He is equally at home with both mixed and all-male audiences.
As a celebrity member of both The Variety Club of Great Britain Golfing Society and SPARKS, Dave speaks at many charitable events both at home and abroad. Consequently, in the summer months company golf days are a speciality.
He is acknowledged by his peers as one of the country's funniest comedians and finest after-dinner speakers; this is a unique accolade and one that means he must go on last, as nobody wants to follow him!
Areas of Expertise
Dave has travelled the world entertaining corporate clients in Europe, The Middle East, and North & Central America.
He specialises in personalisation for corporate events, and customer satisfaction is substantiated by the number of re-bookings he receives.
Dave has appeared at the London Palladium, The Royal Albert Hall and just about every major theatre in the country.
His extensive television experience includes 2 Royal Variety Shows, 'Live from Her Majesty's', 'Comic Relief', ' 'Night of 100 Stars', 'Summertime Special', 'Only Joking', etc. etc.....
Dave has recently returned from the fabulous Sirene Golf Hotel, Antalya in Turkey, where he was honoured to be asked to entertain at The Variety Club's Captain's Classic.
Last year he was the guest speaker at the inaugural SPARKS Rugby versus Showbiz Classic at La Manga , and later in the year was delighted to accept Ray Clemence's invitation to speak at his Classic at Oliva Nova in Spain.
He also found time to fit in another trip to La Manga, this time to entertain at a Pro-Am ( he should be getting good at golf by now!).
Dave works regularly for the Blue Chip Companies, and in April this year was pleased to be asked to entertain 700 people for Mercedes Commercial at The N.E.C. This was the fourth time that he had been asked to speak at this event, (a record for Mercedes Commercial ), and the evening was such a resounding success that the agent was immediately asked to book him for another four Mercedes events. He went down a storm at those as well, cementing his relationship Daimler Chrysler and was "the talk of the network".
Although unable to take up the invitation to return to La Manga for the 2nd Rugby v Showbiz Classic this year, Dave has spoken at many Charity Golf events for SPARKS this year, including The Lehman Brothers Classic at the stunning Grove Hotel near Rickmansworth and the Tim Brooke Taylor Classic at Brockett Hall.
Dave has just returned from holiday in St. Kitts and is managing to fit in 3 week's work before flying out to Mauritius for a speaking engagement and a week's golf with The Variety Club.
"Dave Wolfe is one of the funniest and most professional speakers I have ever had the pleasure working with. His ability to gauge the audience is second to none".
"Dave is one of those rare comedy performers with genuine reputation for combining talent, personality and material, which guarantees him success at any function. His after dinner performances have been the real highlight of our functions".
JERRY STEVENS - Tournaments & Events Director,
Variety Club of Great Britain Golf Society, 20th February 2002
"Dave Wolfe is a master of mischief. He holds the mirror or mirth before us and shows us our own absurdities. But twinklingly. For he is a benign force for laughter, and these are all too rare".
JACK TINKER - Daily Mail Theatre Critic, 26th October 1996 (R.I.P Jack)
"Dave is a true professional and gave us 45 minutes of absolute fun, we were rolling in the aisles. He has been our best after dinner speaker over the past 14 years"
HOWARD PARKIN - Director, Heywood William Group, 21st April 2001
"Dave Wolfe is the funniest speaker I've heard; Well, since I last spoke! No - I mean he really is funny!!"
JIMMY HILL O.B.E. - 2nd August 2002
"In my career as a toastmaster over more than 30years, I have hears some excellent, humorous after-dinner speeches - yours was by far the best!
As a member of the society of London Toastmasters, in view of the guests I always endeavour to remain fairly dignified. For the hour that you were on, dignity flew out the window - I was creased up with laughter.
I was told by someone who had seen you in action before that you were good, but i didn't realise how good".
EDDIE DANIELS M.S.L.T - Chemical Health and Safety Group Annual Dinner, 26th March 1998
"As the person responsible for arranging the speaker for some 900 of my contemporaries, I have to say that I have, on occasions over the years suffered nightmares over my choice. But not '97 at the Hilton on Park Lane!
Dave was absolutely brilliant and had the audience rocking with laughter - a dream sound to an organiser! Anyone booking Dave in'98 is in for a real treat!"
GERRY McDEVITT - Entertainment Coordinator, 8th December 1999
"Seldom can I remember a stand-up comedian who, having been briefed only an hour before performing, managed not only to remember the entire brief but also have his gags so well targeted. Dave is a very funny man, but above all his professionalism shone through to the extent that he performed for over one hour, and provided everyone with a first class cabaret act. In the sometimes cynical and always youthful advertising business, it was a joy to watch so many people from all over Europe, enjoy his brand of humour. Thank you!"
DENNIS SULLIVAN - Director, Portland Outdoor Advertising, 23rd January 1999
"May I congratulate you on having a speaker of calibre of Dave Wolfe on your books. You said that he would be good, but nothing prepared us for the outstanding success that he was. Four days on and members and guests are still telephoning me and congratulating the club on having the good judgement to book him...down to you!
Dave stood up when the evening was just starting to flag a little, took it by the scruff of the neck and gave us all a performance which none of us will forget. The personalisation of many of his gags caused great amusement and even though it was an all male audience.
Dave never resorted to the use of bad language or profanity which endeared him all the more to his audience. I would unreservedly recommend Dave Wolfe to any organisation wanting someone really funny to top their bill...A real pro!"
ROGER GOSLING - Director, Hull lonians Annual Dinner, 27th March 2000
"I have to say that your professionalism shone through - your humour, timing and wit are unsurpassed.
I have organised high profile special events for many years and it is the first time i have ever witnessed a whole audience of over 200 men give a standing ovation to anyone. I cannot thank you enough"
SYLVIA DIGGLE - Special Events Organiser, Rochdale Man of The Year, 29th November 2002
"Reading the information you supplied on Dave I thought it sounded a bit too good to be true, but it was spot on. Dave entertained us for three consecutive evenings, to people who in some cases had attended for all three, and i can safely say that we were all in stitches every night."
ALISON HALLSWORTH - P.A. to M.D. Heritage Bathrooms Plc, 1st October 2001
"You were absolutely correct recommending Dave to us as he was fantastic. He performed for an hour and half, and kept the audience in tears of laughter. He is very funny, quick and experienced and I shall have no hesitation in recommending him to others in the future".
A.W. GREENHOUGH- Secretary General BVSF, 15th April 2003
"Last Monday we had the enormous pleasure of having Dave Wolfe entertain our whole company at the end of the first day conference and evening of awards. As always with these things the people responsible for the booking were apprehensive as to how the entertainment would go. I can assure you that without any fear of contradiction Dave was the best after dinner entertainment we had ever had in this company and our apprehension melted with the laughter within seconds of Dave getting on his feet.
We had a mixed audience, the majority male and six female and the balance was perfect without any problems to anyone. We would not hesitate in recommending Dave to anyone else or use him again ourselves and we thank you for introducing him to us".
MARTIN WELLS- Managing Director Jonathonís Hotel, 11th January 2001
"Absolute Knockout! - He had the audience in the palm on his hand. Dave employed very clever use of the names of those attending. Overall performance rating: 110%! We will definitely use him again. (they have! - Ed)".
FRANK WILD- Kwik Fit, 12th February 2001
"Dave Wolfe was the most entertaining compere we have had since the inception of our Awards in 1988. Over 900 people were helpless with laughter. We simply cannot recommend him too highly".
A.A. CARR- Director-General BFFF, 10th April 1999
"Dave was magnificent, tailoring his anecdotes to fit our people exactly, and i can honestly say that he had even the most staid of people in hysterics. I've had more compliments than ever before. This is the first time we have employed Dave, but it won't be the last!".
PAT JUKES- International Field Manager, 8th December 2000
"Dave Wolfe made us laugh, for an hour he made everyone laugh - our guests - the hotel staff - even the DJ. He was nothing less than brilliant. He judged and involved his audience perfectly - his research was faultless and his performance was in the greatest traditions of British comedy. If anyone wants to know what the 'feel-good factor' is like, they should book Dave Wolfe".
BILL GELLAR- Marketing Manager ICS Group plc, 2nd November 2000
"Dave was nothing short of excellent. In all our time attending and organising dinners, we have not had a better speaker. The way he involved everyone within the hall was nothing short of brilliant. He was the funniest speaker we have ever booked and kept the whole audience laughing from the moment he stood up to the time when he sat down.
We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him".
ANDREW INCE- President Midland Hotel, 10th November 2001
