David Bryon is an outstanding and highly entertaining after-dinner speaker who is building an excellent reputation on the speaking circuit. David is the former Managing Director of bmibaby, one of Europeís largest low cost airlines. His knowledge and experience provides a wealth of stories and tales from the aviation industry, and he weaves these into a hilarious and captivating routine which involves extensive audience participation!
David was born and raised in the SE of England. He completed a degree and PhD at the University of Liverpool before becoming involved with the early evolution of the internet and ecommerce.
Areas of Expertise
David now combines his successful speaking career with other media commitments. These include hosting cable TV shows, writing articles, and appearing as a regular guest on various national programmes including Five Live, Radio 2ís Jeremy Vine Show, BBC News 24, and Sky News.
Prior to joining bmibaby, David moved to America in 1996 and continued to work within the area of ecommerce. He also started writing a humorous newspaper column looking at life in America through the eyes of a cynical Englishman. This became very successful and also led to David hosting a TV talk show that broadcast on regional cable.
David returned to the UK in 2000 to take-up a position with the airline bmi, and was part of the senior management team that set-up the low cost carrier bmibaby in 2002. He was Commercial Director for 18 months before being appointed Managing Director. He left this position in 2006.
In addition to after-dinner speaking, Davidís business and media background make him the perfect event facilitator, capable of managing all subjects and injecting humour into any occasion.
I heard David speak recently and immediately booked him for one of my national Variety Club events. A real find.
