Since 1980, Khoo Kheng-Hor has held various senior management positions with several public-listed corporations in Malaysia and Singapore. He was General Manager of Metroplex Holdings Berhad, which manages The Mall shopping complex in Kuala Lumpur, when he left for UK to read his MBA at the University of Stirling.

After earning his MBA, with distinction, he went to Singapore in 1991 where he gave public lectures, conducted in-house seminars and was consulted on management before joining Kentucky Fried Chicken Management Pte Ltd as Director of Operations. Thereafter, in 1994, he set up his own company, to assist his clients on strategic planning, provide selective executive-search services, and motivate their key executives through his special 'Management - the Sun Tzu way' programs.

Today, he has retired to live in the mountains and in the tranquillity of the countryside, he concentrates on his writing. However, being well sought after as a motivational speaker, he still comes forth from his 'hermitage' to talk in Singapore and other Asian destinations.

Areas of Expertise

Dr. Khoo, who has written 24 business and management books, most of which are based on the 500 BC military treatise, the Art of War by renowned military strategist, Sun Tzu, has made it his life's mission to "suntzunize" as many people as possible.

Hence, despite having semi-retired at the age of 43 back in 1999 to live in his mountain sanctuary in Malaysia's Cameron Highlands, he still travels once a month for some five to 12 days to show his audience how the key principles from the Art of War could still apply today for gaining the competitive advantage for themselves and their respective organizations.

Although Khoo speaks mostly for an hour or half-day at international conferences, some organizations like AIA, Borneo Motors (Toyota), Citibank, Eastman Kodak, HP, ICI Paint, Infineon Technology, Intel, Inter-Continental Hotels & Resorts, Johnson & Johnson, Keppel, Microsoft, Port of Singapore Authority, Reuters, Siemens Nixdorf, SingTEL, Sun Microsystems, etc., have engaged him to conduct day-long or even two-day seminar/workshops. His current best-selling theme is "Sun Tzu's Strategies for Winners".
What differentiates his presentation, making him one of Asia's most sought-after speakers, is the practical hands-on, simple yet thought-provoking ideas he brought into his sessions from more than 20 years' exposure in senior management positions, including having turned around ailing corporations, and founding his own company, Stirling Training & Management Consultants Pte Ltd.

Khoo who also "suntzunizes" officers of the Singapore Police Force on a regular basis, has also been appointed an honorary Assistant Superintendent of Police for his contribution as a change agent to the highly effective and respectable law enforcement body.
