Who should attend:
This workshop has been designed for all business planners, managers or supervisors who have responsibility for the planning or implementation of business goals and objectives.
3 Day course
Minimum 8, maximum 20 recommmended.
By the end of the programme participants will be able to:
. Understand the concept of business strategy and how to align their business plans to it.
. Be able to produce effective business objectives
. Be familiar with how to prepare and deliver business plans within the framework of a corporate culture
. Have practiced using a variety of planning tools to create realistic plans
. Understand the three components of integrated planning
. Establish a focus and set priorities on organisational results to be achieved
. Confidently communicate their plans to their senior managers or external stakeholders.

Concept of strategic planning
Benefits of business planning and its alignment to business strategy
Developing a business mission & strategy
Corporate culture & values
Setting business goals and writing SMART objectives
Introduction of planning tools and techniques
SWOT analysis and action planning
Measuring results against plan
Stakeholder analysis and communication plan
Identifying customers and competitors and their impact on the business.
Producing your people plan
Business planning case study or activity
Risk assessment and contingency planning
Finance plans and budgets
All delegates will be able to write a business plan, demonstrate the application of tools and techniques to aid planning and complete a risk assessment. They will be able to align their business plan to the business strategy. All delegates will receive a working toolkit for business planning and follow up support from their facilitator.
